Lingusists choose 'they' as word of the decade, beating out 'climate', '#MeToo'

 U.S. linguists on Jan. 3 chose "they" as their word of the decade. The word is the third-person plural pronoun.

pronoun: 代名詞

 People who see themselves as neither "he" nor "she" often ask other people to use "they" to refer to them. They can do this, for example, by signing their email or social media bio with the phrase "pronouns: they/their."
